“Understanding purpose, and Spiritual Authority From A Cop’s Perspective
Chapter 1
“The 411”
(essential information/truth)
“Everybody wants to be a cop, right?”
Ok, Ok, I know that not everybody wants to be a Cop per say. There are now over seven billion people in the world. Out of the top thirty countries which have structured law enforcement there are less than eleven million police officers. It seems like that number would be significantly higher if in fact, “everybody” wanted to be a cop. I do believe however, that everyone deep down at their core wants power. They want control. The authority to dictate their circumstances. The power to make things be what they want them to be.
We need not look too far to see this in modern society. Just in the last one hundred years how many wars have been fought for the sake of political, geographic, and yes even racial conquest? How many nations have been born? How many groups have begun, and organizations formed? Movements have been launched and phrases coined, all in the name of power, some good and worthwhile, even noble. Some not. We’ve heard phrases like, “Power to the people!”, “Black Power”, “White Power”, “Woman Power”, “Manpower”. Creation of words like, “empower”, and “enable”. True, power though is elusive to the average human. This is because of the “Curse”. This is because of misinformation. A false narrative started in order to distract from the real story, the truth. You might say “Fake News” that came before there were any news outlets. No, I’m not getting political. Often when man obtains some very limited degree of authority in a situation, he still lacks the necessary power to make meaningful change. This can be a good thing as fallen man’s plans are often perverted. This is because of his fallen mind, (soul), which has adopted the misinformation. We’ll address “the lie” that I speak of a little later.
Why does mankind have this longing for dominance? Why the struggle? Why the fierce competition? I believe it’s not by chance but by design. We can see this by looking at the account of man’s creation in Genesis. Now I personally believe that there is strong Biblical evidence to suggest that Genesis 1:3 through the end of the chapter is the account of God reordering things after a catastrophic event which I myself and many Bible scholars believe occurred chronologically somewhere between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. I may at least touch on this again later.
